Painting Again. Return to the Canvas

“The artist is nothing without the gift, but the gift is nothing without the work.”  emile zola

It seems like an eternity since I have been able to get back to my paints.  And once I did, it seemed even longer before I could find my eye.  So, after some failed projects, I now begin to have a few “post worthy” works.  I promise more to come sooner than later.  I need to find a way to make my art more of a priority.

A Birthday Post

A new year begins. I have defined some goals for the upcoming year. I have returned to my canvas after the holidays and am excited to begin working on a series of paintings. There will also be a surprise “ink lovies” project to reveal soon. Commitment people!!!

Coming soon!

There’s a new series beginning.  The women in my last series seemed to have a purpose or task at hand.  These women are just lovely to look at.

As a business update….I now have a PayPal account set up so works can be purchased directly.  I will link this to my website just as soon as I can locate a 13 year old with time on their hands who can help me.  In the meantime, you can purchase works through PayPal using my email address  Send me a message selecting the piece you would like and go to PayPal website and use my email address to locate my account.  Use the action “purchase”.  I will update the sidebar gallery with works available and pricing.  This is so much fun!!  Thanks for all of you who have given me such lovely feedback.  It really means so much and keeps me pursuing this lofty dream I have.

I have fallen in love with each of these women during the last month.  The quiet in the moment of their lives.  The feeling they were experiencing.  I hope they find the same love with you.  Available now for purchase.

Canvas Pricing:

8×8      $85.00

9×12    $145.00

12×12    $210.00

20×20  $380.00

Finished paintings

I have been trying to teach myself how to maintain a webpage and blog.  AAAAAAGGGGGHHHH!!!  I look at other art pages and know exactly how they should look, so why can’t I get mine that way?  Just wanted to let everyone know that hopefully in the future you can navigate my inventory and selection of works a bit better.  I am working on it.  In the meantime, if anyone has a 13 year old who knows all about this stuff send them to my house and I will feed them.

These five paintings have been completed.  I apologize for the quality of the photography.  My digital camera is on the fritz so I used my phone.  The small boats are 8×8, the washtub kids are 12×12, the sweet little girl with the chick is 20×20.  The clothesline painting “Gathering Home” is sold.

This painting is a large one 24×40.  It still needs some fluffy white clouds and foreground shadows but will be finished soon.  It can be reserved.
